Regular Sunday services

Weekly gatherings of the whole church community include sung worship, teaching, prayer, refreshments, and, regularly, food together! Sunday services encourage and help us to live the rest of our weeks for God.

Most Sundays look a bit like this…

10:30 There’s free parking and from 10:30 you’ll be greeted by our Connection Team, who will answer any questions and make you feel at home. Grab a free coffee, and often, some great home-baking! Just before 11:00 we move into the main hall.

11:00 The service starts. Our style is contemporary and informal, so come as you are and join in as you feel comfortable. We welcome all ages and we know different people engage in different ways, there is space for peopel to move around while we sing songs to God (playlist of some of songs we use).

11:15 Children (4-11) leave for group where they have fun learning more about Jesus and his plan for their lives.

11:30 Youth (11-18) go to their group (most weeks) while the adults listen to a talk, from the Bible, helping us learn more about who God is and how we get to live accordingly.

12:30 We aim to finish with time to respond, and pray.

People gathered around a table serving themselves food at a buffet-style meal.

On the second Sunday each month we share a simple bring-and-share lunch together after the service. If you’re a guest, please don’t bring anything for lunch, just enjoy our hospitality :-)

On the third Sunday each month we share communion as part of our service, inviting all those (children, youth and adults) that are following Jesus to join with us.

Community Sundays

A monthly short all-together service, great for people of all ages and guests unfamiliar with church.

Community Sundays are an opportunity to be community together as a whole church family of all ages, as well as an excellent opportunity to invite friends in our wider community to taste what we do. Usually the first Sunday on the month, but move to fit with Christmas and Easter.

10:30 There’s free parking and from 10:30 you’ll be greeted by our Connection Team, who will be happy to answer any questions and make you feel at home. Grab a free coffee, and often, some great home-baking! Just before 11:00 we move into the main hall.

11:00 Different people engage in different ways, so we have activities suitable for ages, including crafts and games. Recent themes include friendship, people’s stories about God’s activity in their lives and thinking about the meaning of Christmas, through film clips, art and craft, and short talks. We usually include a short time of sung worship.

12:30 We finish promptly.

Special Sundays

We’re part of a wider family of churches, which means that twice a year, instead of meeting in Abingdon, we get to gather with our wider family of churches, Salt & Light Advance, in Oxford.

In the summer holiday each year, we also join together with over 400 others from Advance to join the Wildfires Festival.he Advance calendar for details.
